Uncooked Pizza Sauce

Prep. Time: 1:05
Yield: 1 1/4 cups

28 oz. can crushed tomatoes
3 oz. can tomato paste
1/4 cup grated Romano cheese
2 Tbls. minced garlic
1 Tbls. black pepper
1 Tbls. granulated sugar
2 tsp. dried basil
1 tsp. dried oregano

-Whisk all ingredients together.
-Allow flavors to blend for 1 hour before using.

  • I had made pizza dough in the bread maker and was told by my hubby that "yes.......you have a can of sauce in the panty". Well....he was wrong! We had taken our granddaughter to the zoo and were pretty pooped from all the walking and the hot sun. Running to the store was not something I was really keen on doing! Found this recipe and whipped it up pretty quickly. Cut the black pepper by 1/2 though since a 3 yr old was eating it too. It was really very very good. Covered (2) 12 - 14" pizzas and froze the rest to cover one more pizza another time. This was certainly better than any canned sauce I would have prepared and probably cost us less as well! Thank you so much - it's a keeper!
