1 cup boiling water
2 Tbls. Old Bay
® seasoning
1 Tbls. distilled white vinegar
1 Tbls. lemon juice
1 lb. cooked shrimp
cocktail sauce - as needed

Appetizers for Dummies Small Bites: Tapas, Sushi, Mezze, Antipasti, and Other Finger Foods


-Place water, crab boil seasoning, vinegar, and lemon juice in a re-sealable plastic bag; knead to mix.
-Add shrimp to bag, seal, and refrigerate at least 2 hours, overnight is best.
-Drain shrimp through a collander and arrange on a serving dish with a cup of cocktail sauce for dipping; serve cold.

Make It A Meal: Serve with Garlic Dill New Potatoes and Scalloped Corn

  • I made this about a year ago and have made it several times since. I won't serve plain shrimp again!

  • I just made your shrimp recipe for a company happy hour party I hosted. Everyone loved the flavor. I gave them several cocktail sauces to dip in, also, which enhanced the flavors. But it was also great on it's own.
