I have
been looking for this recipe for weeks. I had
this dessert at work, they feed us there :0) and
was unable to get the recipe. Thank you sooo
much!!!
to this I
add a layer of well drained crushed pineapple. In
the pudding I stir in mini marshmallows and top
with cool whip.
I like the
other person who made a comment have been
searching for this delicious recipe! This
has been a total hit, everywhere I have brought
it to and somehow in a move I lost a recipe book
with this in it. Thank you, thank you,
thank you!
This is
one of the best tasting dessert's that I have
ever eaten. I make a minor adjustment in the
version I prepare. Instead of the Pistachio
pudding, I used (1) box of instant vanilla
pudding and (1) box of instant chocolate pudding.
I have served this version with great success,
and have been asked for the instructions on how
to prepare it many times. I have seen my version
of this great dessert labeled as Chocolate Torte
Cake. I sometimes hesitate to give the recipe
instructions as it is so easy to prepare, many of
my guests think I really put some time into the
preparation. Other than the vanilla and chocolate
pudding I prepare it exactly as you have it
listed. I was really in a dither as I had put my
recipe up so it wouldn't get lost and still
haven't been able to find it. So hope you will
know how nice it was to wander into your site and
recover something that has become more or less a
family tradition in our family, especially around
the holidays.
THANK YOU,
THANK YOU, THANK YOU. ITS TWO DAYS BEFORE
THANKSGIVING AND I HAVEN'T BEEN ABLE TO FIND THIS
RECIPE ANYWHERE. NONE OF MY FRIENDS HAD IT AND I
COULDN'T EVEN FIND IT ON THE FOOD NETWORK. I
HAVEN'T HAD THIS DELICIOUS DESSERT FOR YEARS. I
WAS TRYING TO THINK OF SOMETHING DIFFERENT THAT
MY KIDS WOULD ENJOY FOR THE BIG TURKEY DAY FEAST.
I WAS ALMOST READY TO GIVE UP TILL I FOUND YOU
WEBSITE. I JUST GOT BACK FROM THE STORE WITH ALL
THE NECESSARY INGREDIENTS. AGAIN. THANK YOU SOOO
MUCH.
For this
dessert, I do the crust with pecans chopped
finely. I do the cream cheese layer with just
cream cheese and powdered sugar and sometimes a
1/2 tsp vanilla. I then do a whipped topping
layer, then pour puddings right after being made
and let them set up in the pan, then the final
whipped topping. By keeping the whipped topping
out of the cream cheese layer, it stays fresh
much longer without soggy crust.
Thank you
for posting this on the web, I have this recipe
at home however we got invited out for supper
& wanted to pick up the ingredients before
heading home. (Hadn't made this for a year so
couldn't remember the ingredients for sure.)
I want to sya thank you
so much for that recipe because my grandma made one time and I love
eating it after that. Thanks
Hey, thanks for keeping
our family traditional recipe handy since I lost it! We use red and
green maraschino cherries halved on top in rows for Christmas and
you can change the decor to candy corn at Thanksgiving or jelly
beans and coconut in the Spring - very festive!!!
Ah HA!!! I finally found
it!!! My friend has been making this dessert for years and refuses
to give me the recipe! I am so estactic! This is the best ever!!!
You saved me. My husband
loves this dessert and we want to share with our friends, since you
can make it low fat as well. thanks so much.
I have had this recipe
for over twenty years and recently lost it. Thanks for putting it on
the net. I have used banana pudding and mixed fresh ripe bananas in
with the cream cheses mix and got raves.
This recipe seemed
impossible to find this site is my hero I am so greatful to find
this recipe. My mother in law passed away a few moths ago and I
needed some clarification to her recipe to make the traditional
dessert for the family.
Thank You so much for
posting this great recipe! We were on a Family vacation visiting my
Grandma in the South and we asked her to make a dessert she had made
for us years ago, but we could not find her recipe anywhere. We got
on our laptop and searched and found your recipe, which was exactly
right. We were all so excited and we made it that night and it was
perfect!
thanks for posting this.
i had been looking for the recipe particularly for the crust.
everyone loves this recipe, but they especially love the crust(i use
finely chopped pecans as well). i like to make my no bake cheesecake
with this crust also.
I have made this many
times and love it. I have made one change, I spread the cream cheese
mixture on the crust first and then the pudding followed by the whip
cream and nuts. Tastes the same but easier to spread!
Thank you for posting
this particular recipe. I'm living in Europe and working on an Army
base. I need to make this for tomorrow and have the ingredients, but
couldn't remember my "sister's" recipe. Not wanting to wake her up
for it (8 hours time difference), I searched the web and finally
found this delicious recipe. I know it will be a hit.
Along long time ago my
friend made this dessert and it was absolutly refreshing. She had
given me the recipe and between moves I had lost it,I remembered
most of it but now I have it and I'm off to the store so I can start
impressing my friends.Very Nice Thanks ohhh!so much!!
My daughter-in-law made
this recipe for Easter dessert - was great and my husband loved it!
Needed a dessert for a meeting and was pleased to find it on this
site. You may want to make that change. Looking forward to
"whipping" this up tonight!
Awesomely delicius
This recipe can also be
made substituting 1 can of pie filling for the pudding layer. It's
delicious with blueberry pie filling, but cherry works as well.
Jello makes pumpkin flavored pudding (seasonal) which can be used in
place of pistachio with pecans in place of walnuts.
