Hot Toddy

Prep. Time: 0:05
Serves: 1

1 1/4 oz. bourbon whiskey
1 tsp. sugar OR honey
juice of 1 lemon wedge
hot water OR hot tea
1 stick of cinnamon - for garnish
1 pat of butter - for garnish

-Pour bourbon, sugar/honey, and lemon juice into a coffee mug or glass.
-Fill the mug the rest of the way with water or tea.
-Garnish with a cinnamon stick placed in the mug and butter laid on top.

Notes: My grandma used to administer this as a cold remedy to my mom "back in the day".

  • hey, my mom made this for us when I was a kid and we had the croup...except she heated hers in a pan, just straight bourbon (usually Jim Beam), honey and lemon juice...it would kill the cough and knock us out for the rest of the night!!

  • Have to admit... still works today!
