-Sauté onions in butter or oil until tender; remove from heat; drain any
remaining butter or oil from pan; allow to cool.
-Fold together cooled onions and remaining ingredients;
divide into 4 equal portions; shape into 3/4" thick
patties.
-Grill burgers over a medium flame OR cook in a greased skillet, turning
once, until cooked through.
Notes: Top with a slice of cheese 3 minutes
before cooking is complete, if desired. Serve on toasted buns with any
variety of burger toppings.
