Granola Bars

Serves : 16

3 1/2 cups rolled oats
1 cup nuts (see Notes below)
1 cup raisins OR chocolate chips
1/2 cup coconut - optional
2/3 cup melted butter OR margarine
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/3 cup honey, corn syrup, OR molasses
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract

-Toast oats by spreading on a cookie sheet and baking in a 350 degree oven for 15-20 minutes, until lightly browned.
-Mix all ingredients together until coated.
-Press into a greased 15" X 10" jelly roll pan.
-Bake in a 350 degree oven for 12-15 minutes.
-Cool completely before cutting into bars.

Notes : If using sunflower seeds, use 1/2 cup.
