Creamy Tomato Pasta

2 Lbs. Roma tomato - peeled and chopped
8 oz. cream cheese - softened, lowfat okay
1/4 cup Marsala wine
2 Tbls. olive oil
3 cloves garlic - crushed
8 oz. sliced mushrooms - preferably fresh
1 small red onion - chopped
1 tsp. dried oregano
1/2 tsp. dried basil
salt - to taste
black pepper - to taste
3 cups pasta - your choice, prepared as directed
parmesan cheese - to taste

-In a medium saucepan, combine tomatoes, Marsala wine, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper.
-Simmer over low heat for 20 minutes.
-Meanwhile, saute oil and garlic in skillet.
-Add mushrooms and onions and cook until vegetables are done.
-Add cream cheese to tomato mixture and stir until all of cheese is melted.
-Add onions and mushrooms. Blend well.
-Serve over hot cooked pasta and top with Parmesan cheese, if desired.
