1/2 cup 110 degree water
(2) .25 oz. pkts. active dry yeast
1/2 tsp. granulated sugar
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup butter OR margarine
1 cup granulated sugar - divided
2 eggs - beaten
1 Tbls. salt
all-purpose flour - as needed
1 lb. shelled walnuts - ground
6 Tbls. butter OR margarine
1 cup sweetened condensed milk
butter OR margarine - for rubbing
-In a large bowl, combine water
and yeast; stir in 1/2 tsp. sugar and 1/2 cup flour; set aside.
-Heat milk and 1/4 cup butter until butter is melted; remove from heat;
stir in 1/4 cup sugar, eggs, and salt.
-Pour hot mixture over yeast mixture and stir in enough flour to make a
firm dough.
-Roll dough into a ball, grease dough, and place into a greased bowl.
-Cover dough with a towel and allow to rise in a warm place for 1 hour.
-Knock down dough, divide into three equal parts, and roll each out to
1/4" - 1/2" thick.
-Combine walnuts, 6 Tbls. butter, sweetened condensed milk, and
remaining 3/4 cup sugar; spread evenly over dough.
-Roll up dough and prick each roll with a fork 5 times.
-Bake on a greased cookie sheet in a 350 degree oven for 35-40 minutes.
-Rub butter OR margarine over tops of hot rolls.
