Garlic
Rolls

1 recipe New York Style Dough (see
Notes, below)
2 Tbls. chopped fresh oregano OR 1 Tbls. dried oregano
1 cup melted real butter
2 Tbls. chopped fresh parsley OR 1 Tbls. dried parsley flakes
1 Tbls. garlic salt
grated Parmesan OR Romano cheese - as needed
-On a lightly floured surface,
stretch and shape dough evenly into an 18" circle.
-Sprinkle oregano evenly over dough surface.
-Using a pizza cutter, slice dough as if you were cutting a pizza, into
16 equal-sized wedges.
-Starting with the outer edge, roll each dough wedge towards the center.
-Place each roll on a lightly oiled baking sheet about 2 inches apart,
cover loosely with plastic wrap, and allow to rise for 1 hour in a warm
place.
-Bake rolls in a 450 degree oven until browned, about 8 minutes.
-In a small bowl, stir together butter, parsley, and garlic salt.
-Brush hot rolls with garlic butter.
-Sprinkle desired amount of cheese over rolls.
Notes: Prepare dough as directed
in recipe on this site, following only the first 4 steps, then proceed
with this recipe’s instructions. Serve rolls with a side of pizza sauce
for dipping.
