Taco Seasoning
like Taco Bell's®

Prep. Time: 0:05
Yield: Seasons 1 lb. ground meat

1 Tbls. all-purpose flour
1 Tbls. corn starch
1 Tbls. dried minced onion
1 tsp. beef bouillon granules OR 1 beef bouillon cube - crushed
1 tsp. garlic salt
1 tsp. ground cumin
1 tsp. paprika
1 tsp. chili powder
1/2 tsp. onion salt
1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper
1/4 tsp. granulated sugar

-Combine and store in an air-tight container.

Notes: To make taco meat, brown 1 lb. ground beef in a skillet over medium-high heat; drain off fat. Add seasoning mix and 3/4 cup water. Bring to a boil; reduce heat to medium-low. Simmer, uncovered, for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. This recipe is the equivalent to a 1`.25 oz. packet taco seasoning.

We have a child who is allergic to gluten--every taco seasoning mix I could find, even in the health food stores, contained "maltodextrose" (whatever that is), which contains gluten. Thank you for giving us real taco seasoning without the "extras".

Thanks for your recipes. We've just been put on a sodium restricted diet. Most of the packaged foods are LOADED with salt. By using yours, I can eliminate the salt and pump up the other seasonings and we can still eat the foods we love.
