  • instead of cherry pie try it with blueberry

  • I haven't had this in 15 years! Thanks for the reminder...you can add walnuts too!

  • I've made this for years without the pineapple. I always drop about 1 cup of chopped walnuts over the cake after I have drizzled the melted butter over it. will try it with the pineapple next time I make it.

  • My husband had this once as a child and we looked for a long time for the recipe. I am the only one I know that ever makes this, but we bring this every time there's an occasion that we're required to bring food. EVERYONE has always enjoyed it. It is always been an absolute favorite, and no matter how much I bring, there is never enough to go around. It is also great served warm topped with ice cream.

  • Use Peaches and sprinkle with cinnamon. Delicious!

  • This has been a favorite in my family for years.  One extra ingredient we like to add though is chopped pecans on top.  We usually put it under the butter so they absorb it and don't get burnt.  Hope you like it!

  • Just wanted you to know that I have made this Dump Cake and it is the best cake I have made in a long time, and it was so easy to make. I love cakes that are so easy to make and that they taste so well that even company thinks I slaved making it.. Thanks again for the great recipe. Love, this web site.

  • Sprinkle shredded coconut over the pineapple cherry filling. It's great!

  • You don't mix the ingredients with a spoon, just layer them??? This is crazy, I have to try it!
